Brandon King starred with the bat in the last game, helping the team register a 17-run win over Saint Lucia Kings. Riding on Brandon Kings’s 77 off 57, Guyana Amazon Warriors posted 151 runs in the first innings. The team, though, be expecting the likes of Shimron Hetmyer, M Hafeez, and Shoaib Malik to step up as well.
Imran Tahir and Gudakesh Motie bowled vital spells in the powerplay overs to deny Saint Lucia of getting a good start. Tahir sent Andre Fletcher back to the hut for 8, while Motie accounted for the wickets of Faf du Plessis and Samit Patel to leave the opposition in trouble at 43 for 3. Naveen Ul Haq took the vital wicket of Roston Chase, while Odean Smith’s two wickets in the 19th over helped the team restrict Saint Lucia Kings to 134 and win the game by 17 runs.
