Guyana Amazon Warriors will square up against Jamaica Tallawahs in the 26th match of CPL 2021 on Sunday at Warner Park. Jamaica Tallawahs find themselves at third position with 4 wins in 8 matches. They have a pretty good net run rate of +0.536 and it should keep them in good stead.

Jamaica have a pretty solid batting unit and but their batsmen haven’t been consistent enough. The last game, however, saw all of them making vital contributions. Opener Kennar Lewis smashed the second fast half-century of this season and set the tone for a huge score. He scored 56 runs off just 24 balls, helping the side reach the 90-run mark inside the first nine overs.

Shamarh Brooks (34 off 29) and Rovman Powell (22 off 20) also shared a vital partnership but the strike rate was questionable. The arrival of Andre Russell, however, once again saw the runs coming at a much faster rate. He added 31 runs off just 15 balls before getting out in the nineteen over. Imad Wasim’s (27 off 10) three sixes in the final over eventually helped the side post a massive 211-run total in the first innings.

Saint Lucia Kings, in reply, also made a blistering start. Andre Fletcher 30 off 13 and Mark Deyal 33 off 17 ensured the team reach the 100-run mark inside nine overs. However, Carlos Brathwaite’s two wickets in two balls in the ninth over turned the game in the favour of Jamaica. Saint Lucia Kings couldn’t recover from there on and found themselves bundle out for 156 runs in the second innings. Brathwaite and Permaul finished with 2 wickets each, while Imad Wasim picked 3 wickets.

On the other hand, Guyana Amazon Warriors too have four wins in 8 matches and would be keen on winning the next two games. Guyana Amazon Warriors won the last game against Saint Lucia Kings. They haven’t won two consecutive matches for once this season. They would look to do it ahead of the match against Jamaica Tallawahs.

Guyana Amazon Warriors posted 151 runs in the last game against Saint Lucia Kings. They wouldn’t be too happy with the effort. The likes of Shimron Hetmyer (1 off 4), M Hafeez (12 off 14), and Shoaib Malik (1 off 4) didn’t contribute a lot of runs. Brandon Kings was the sole reason behind posting a target of above 150. He smashed 77 off 57 balls, including 8 fours and 3 sixes.

The Warriors, however, bowled well to restrict Saint Lucia Kings to 134 in the second innings and therefore won the game by 17 runs. Gudakesh Motie and Imran Tahir didn’t allow St. Lucia to have a great start in the powerplay overs.

Motie gave away only 12 runs for 2 wickets in his quota of overs, while Imran Tahir picked 1 for 32 in 4 overs. Odean Smith continued to impress with his variations as he finished with figures of 2 for 12 runs in 2 overs.
