Trinbago Knight Riders and St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will take on each other in the 27th match of the Caribbean Premier League 2021 on Sunday. The two teams have occupied the top two spots on the points table, having won 5 matches each thus far in the league.

Trinbago Knight Riders blew hot and cold during the initial phase of the tournament. However, they have been sensational in their last few games. They are unbeaten in their last three encounters. Ahead of the game against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Trinbago Knight Riders would be keen to continue the winning momentum.

Trinbago Knight Riders registered a clinical win in their last game against Barbados Royals. The Royals were bundled out for just a paltry 93, thanks to a brilliant bowling effort from Knight Riders. Khary Pierre and Sunil Narine broke the back of the team, claiming five wickets between them among the top six. Akeal Hosein and Jayden Seales also picked two wickets each.

Barbados Royals took early wickets and tried to make a match out of a small run chase. However, that target was just not enough. In pursuit of the target, Trinbago Knight Riders lost four wickets but Colin Munro’s 47-ball 41 ensured they chased down the total in 16.5 overs.

St. Kitts and Nevis, on the other hand, are going through a rough patch. They started the tournament with five consecutive wins. However, they haven’t won a single game, since. They are coming into the contest on the back of three consecutive losses.

Dwayne Bravo’s injury has taken a big toll on them. They conceded 169 runs against Jamaica Tallawahs in their last game. Dominic Drakes and Fawad Ahmed picked two wickets each, however, the bowling unit, perhaps, gave 20 runs more than they should have.

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, in reply, managed to score 147 in the allotted 20 overs. Devon Smith (35 off 36), Chris Gayle (12 off 10) and Joshua Da Silva (28 off 31) got starts but couldn’t go on to guide their team home. Dominic Drakes scored a good little 12-ball 22-run cameo but it didn’t prove enough. In the end, the Knight Riders fell short of 22 runs.
