CPL 2021 Live: TKR vs SKN, Match 27. The 27th match of CPL 2021 will have Trinbago Knight Riders take on St. Kitts and Navis Patriots on Sunday. The two teams have been the best-performing sides in the tournament and thus have occupied the top two spots on the points table.

Trinbago Knight Riders didn’t start the tournament too well. They won two games out of their first five matches. However, Pollard and Co. have made a roaring comeback since. They are coming into the contest on the back of three consecutive wins.

Their last two games are against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The Knight Riders would want to win both of them. In their last match, they bundled out Barbados Royals for just 93 runs. The spinners comprising of Sunil Narine, Khary Pierre, and Akeal Hosein sprung a web around Barbados. The trio combined to pick 7 wickets between them, while Jaden Seales made a great comeback with two wickets to his name.

Trinbago Knight Riders didn’t make a great start to the chase, losing both the openers inside three overs. However, Colin Munro’s 41 off 47 ensured Knight Riders reach home with 3.1 overs left in the game.

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, on the other hand, had a contrasting campaign thus far. They won their first five games but then went on to lose their last three. The absence of Dwayne Bravo and Chris Gayle’s poor form is hurting them badly. The Patriots need to quickly turn things around if they fancy a chance in the top four.

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots played their last game against Jamaica Tallawahs. Jamaica Tallawahs batted first and notched 169 runs in the first innings. Fawad Ahmed and Jon-Russ Jaggesar bowled well with two wickets each to their name. However, Fabien Allen, Dominic Drakes, and Ravi Bopara went for too many runs.

Chasing the target, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots just couldn’t get going. Devon Thomas scored an uncharacteristic knock of 35 runs off 36 balls but besides that, there wasn’t any notable contribution from anyone. Chris Gayle and Co. managed only 147 runs in the second innings, thereby losing the game by 22 runs.
