CPL 2021 Final: St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs St Lucia Kings- Prediction, Who Will Win The CPL 2021 Final? The CPL 2021 final sees St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots take on Saint Lucia Kings at Warner Park on Wednesday. Both exhibited a sensational performance in their respective semi-final matches to reach here.
St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots registered a clinical 7-wicket win against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the second semi-final. The bowlers bowled extremely well and didn’t allow the opposition to stitch big partnerships. Their batsmen failed to capitalize on the starts they got.
For the Patriots, Jon-Russ Jaggesar, Dominic Drakes, Naseem Shah, and Fawad Ahmed all picked two wickets each. Shimron Hetmyer, however, played right till the end and propelled the total to 178 runs after hitting 20 runs, including 3 sixes, to Sheldon Cottrell in the final over. Hetmyer remained unbeaten at 45 off 20 balls.
However, the total didn’t prove enough as it took just 17.5 overs for the Patriots to chase it down. Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis gave the team a blistering start to the innings as they added 68 runs in the first six overs. Chris Gayle got out in the 8th over of the innings after scoring 42 off 27 balls. Evin Lewis, however, continued his fireworks.
Dwayne Bravo’s promotion at number three also worked well for them as he added 88 runs along with Lewis for the second wicket and made the chase look like a walk in the park. Dwayne Bravo got out in the 16th over after scoring 34 off 31 balls but had done his job by then. Evin Lewis remained unbeaten on 77 off 39 balls and guided the team to a seven-wicket win.
Facing them are Saint Lucia Kings, who wreaked havoc with the bat against Trinbago Knight Riders in the first semi-final. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Saint Lucia Kings notched a massive 205-run total. Mark Deyal set the foundation with a blistering 78-run knock in just 44 balls. Roston Chase (36 off 21), Dawid Wiese (34 off 21), and Tim David (38 off 21) also made significant contributions to the total.
The bowlers too ensured they don’t let Trinbago make big partnerships as they kept taking wickets at regular intervals. Sunil Narine (30 off 17), Colin Munro (28 off 23), Denesh Ramdin (29 off 26), Bravo (25 off 16) and Pollard (26 off 13) all got out in the 20s and 30s.
Dawid Wiese was, once again, brilliant with the ball as he picked his second five-wicket haul in the tournament. Alzarri Joseph too bowled an impressive spell of 1 for 24, ensuring that he doesn’t give any loose delivery to the opposition.
