Former India National Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli, who is regarded as one of the best fielders in the world, pulled off a salute celebration after grabbing a brilliant catch of the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team opener Wesley Madhevere in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
The final Super 12 stage match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is being played between Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Craig Ervine-led Zimbabwe National Cricket Team at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, November 6.
While defending the target, veteran Indian seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar cleaned up the Zimbabwe opener Madhevere for a golden duck on the first ball of the first over with the help of Kohli’s brilliant catch.
Bhuvneshwar, the new-ball specialist, pitched the outswinger just outside off-stump and the Zimbabwe opener followed the outswing with a flowing blade and played away from his body. The ball went straight towards Kohli, who was at short cover, and he grabbed a spectacular diving catch to get rid of Madhevere on the first ball itself.
After taking the stunning catch, the former India captain was delighted and he was also seen doing a salute celebration.

Earlier, India National Cricket Team won the toss and elected to bat first in the match. They made one change to the playing XI as Rishabh Pant replaced Dinesh Karthik. The Chevrons, on the other hand, decided to include Wellington Masakadza and Tony Munyonga in the playing XI for Milton Shumba and Luke Jongwe.
Batting first, Indian openers – KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma – failed to provide their side with a good start for the 5th consecutive time in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
However, Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul played incredible knocks to help India post 186/5 on the board. The No.1 ranked T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav smashed a sensational 61 runs off 25 balls, including 6 terrific fours and 4 exceptional sixes, while the Indian vice-captain scored 51 runs off 35 balls, including 3 fours and 3 sixes.
