Watch: Young Fan Seen In Tears After Meeting Rohit Sharma During IND vs ZIM Game At MCG Post Invading Security

A young fan of the India National Cricket Team, who invaded the MCG security, was seen in tears after meeting the Indian captain Rohit Sharma during the India-Zimbabwe ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 game.

The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) hosted the final Super 12 match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, which saw the battle between Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Craig Ervine-led Zimbabwe National Cricket Team on Sunday, November 6.

During the second innings of the match, a young fan decided to invade the MCG security to enter the playing arena as he wished to meet Indian captain Rohit.

The young fan was in tears as he got very close to Rohit Sharma, but he was unable to have any kind of chat with the Indian captain as the security personnel escorted him out of the stadium. Reportedly, the fan has been fined INR 6.5 lakh for invading the field.

Talking about the match, India won the toss and opted to bat first. Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul were the top-2 performers for the Men In Blue against Zimbabwe and they helped the team reach 186/5 in 20 overs.

Defending the target, the Indian bowlers shined and they managed to restrict Zimbabwe to 115. The Men In Blue won the match by 71 runs to finish as the Group 2 table-toppers.

India are set to lock horns with England in semi-final 2 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 on November 10 at the Adelaide Oval. While talking about the match against England, Rohit Sharma said that adapting to the conditions in Adelaide as quickly as possible will be the key. He stated:

“The key for us will be to adjust to the conditions as quickly as possible. We’ve played a game there but England will be a good challenge for us. Two teams going at each other, it’ll be a great contest. We need to understand what each individual needs to do. It’s going to be a high pressure game. We need to play well. If we do play well, we have a good game ahead as well. You need to adjust quickly and plan accordingly.”
