The ZIM vs NED second ODI will be played in Harare on March 23, Thursday. Zimbabwe are playing an ODI series against the Netherlands at home which is part of the ICC ODI Super League. The series will serve as a warm-up for the upcoming qualification matches.
Netherlands chased down the 250 required to win the first ODI in the penultimate delivery of their innings. Teja Nidamanuru batting at number seven scored an unbeaten 110 to win the game for his side and give them the lead. Colin Ackermann (50) and Shariz Ahmad (30) were the other chief scorers in the chase.

Earlier in the game, the Netherlands won the toss and opted to bowl first. Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza returned to the side in the first ODI. Both were dismissed cheaply as wicketkeeper-batter Clive Madande scored 74 off 98 deliveries to take them to the total. There were some handy contributions from the lower order as well but the total proved not enough.
This ZIM vs NED ODI series is a part of the ICC ODI Super League for direct qualification for the ODI World Cup. It will be a 13-team tournament featuring the top 8 teams including India as the hosts and thus getting a direct qualification. The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 will be hosted in Zimbabwe from 18 June to 9 July to decide the final two teams for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. Zimbabwe and Netherlands will compete to earn their qualification, as they are out of the reckoning for direct qualification.

Along with these two teams, South Africa and West Indies are also playing a series for World Cup qualification. The Proteas will play a final ODI series against the Netherlands after the current one against the Windies to try their luck for direct qualification. Zimbabwe and Netherlands are the bottom two teams on the table while South Africa are placed at number nine. West Indies and Sri Lanka are placed above and below them.
