The ZIM vs NED third ODI will be played on March 25, Saturday in Harare. The match starts from 9.15 am local time. The Netherlands won the first ODI and Zimbabwe made a comeback in the second to level the series and take it to the decider.
Zimbabwe posted 271 batting first after the top-four contributed heavily to the total. Skipper Craig Ervine scored 39 opening the batting. However, the chief contributors were Sean Williams (77) and Clive Madande (52). Young Dutch leggie Shariz Ahmad took five for 43 with the ball.

The chase was interesting as the Netherlands were in the fight till the very last over. Tendai Chatara bowling the final over defended 15 as Zimbabwe prevailed in the game by just one run. Max O’Dowd (81) and Tom Cooper (74) scored at the top. There was nothing much from the middle-order as five Dutch batters were dismissed for single-digit scores. Skipper Scott Edwards’ lone hand of 36 was not enough for the visitors as they ended up conceding the game.
Zimbabwe and Netherlands have played five ODIs with the visitors winning three games while Zimbabwe two. It was in the 2003 World Cup that the two sides met for the first time and their rivalry now dates back over 20 years. The second ODI win was their second win overall against the Netherlands.

The hosts have their senior players Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl back in the side but they could not perform to their potential in the first ODI. The ODI World Cup is likely to start from October 5 in India and both sides will be playing the qualifiers. Zimbabwe are placed 12th in the ICC Super League standings with just four wins. The Netherlands are placed 13th on the table with just three wins from 20 matches.
Zimbabwe and Netherlands are out of the reckoning and they will play in the qualifiers. Along with them, teams like South Africa, West Indies and Sri Lanka are also on edge and might need to play the qualifiers. South Africa needs to win the ongoing series against West Indies and the upcoming series against the Netherlands to ensure direct qualification for the World Cup.
