West Indies are set to begin their international cricket journey in the new calendar year (2021) with the tour of Bangladesh. In this tour, they will play three-match ODI series and two-match Test series against the hosts between 20th January and 15th February 2021.
In the meantime, it will be the first international cricket assignment for Bangladesh since the stoppage of their international cricket due to COVID-19 pandemic. They last played international cricket in last March during the Dhaka T20I against Zimbabwe on 11th March 2020.
On the other hand, West Indies played their last international match in last December during the away Test series against the hosts New Zealand.

While the West Indies tour of Bangladesh will begin with the three-match ODI series, it will end with the two-match Test series. The ODI series will be the part of the inaugural ICC Cricket World Cup Super League and the Test series will be the part of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship.
Also, during this tour, West Indies will play one one-day warm-up game (ahead of ODI series) and one three-day warm-up game (ahead of the Test series).

Match Abandoned due to ‘Unfit’ pitch
- If a match is abandoned and the pitch and/or outfield is ultimately rated as ‘Unfit’ under the ICC Pitch and Outfield Monitoring Process, points for that match shall be distributed on the basis that the visiting team won the match and the home team lost the match, superseding any result that may have been derived under the DLS method. However, any such match shall be classified as a No Result for statistical purposes. (As per Contents 16.11.2 of ICC Cricket World Cup Super League Playing Conditions)
Penalty Overs – Points Deduction
- Any team which has been unable to maintain the minimum over rate as defined in clause 12.9 shall incur one Penalty Over for each full over it is short of the minimum over rate requirement. (As per Contents 16.12.1 of ICC Cricket World Cup Super League Playing Conditions)
- A team shall have one (1) CWC Super League competition point deducted from its points total for each Penalty Over it incurs. (As per Contents 16.12.2 of ICC Cricket World Cup Super League Playing Conditions)

Match Abandoned due to ‘Unfit’ pitch
