Fabian Allen Enters Into Top 10 T20I Bowlers; Babar Azam Retains No.1 Spot In The Latest ICC Player Rankings For ODI Batsmen

In the latest ICC rankings, after an action-packed week of cricket, West Indies spinner Fabian Allen has entered into the top 10 bowlers in T20Is. The left-arm spinner has picked 3 wickets in 3 matches at a brilliant economy of 6.54 in West Indies’ series win over Australia. Fabian Allen gained 16 spots to reach the 10^th position, pushing down New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner.

Fabian Allen’s teammates — Sheldon Cottrell (up two places to 22^nd), Dwayne Bravo (up seven places to 37^th), and Obed McKoy (up 15 places to 38^th) all made moves up in the rankings.

Other West Indies batters also ascended in the batting rankings: Shimron Hetmyer, up to 62^nd; Lendl Simons, up to 64^th; Chris Gayle and Andre Russell, tied in 103^rd place.

Australia’s Ashton Agar dropped points as he picked just a solitary wicket in two matches and leaked runs at 8.00 an over; Mujeeb Ur Rahman replaced him at the number 5 spot. Fast bowler Mitchell Starc, despite being wicket-less in two matches and picking just one wicket in the third and conceding at 8.66, has advanced five places and is now in 29^th position.

Babar Azam consolidates top ODI spot with a century against England:

Pakistan captain Babar Azam struck a classy century in the third ODI against England. With that, he consolidated his position at the top of the ODI batsmen rankings keeping Virat Kohli at bay after failures in the first couple of ODIs. Pakistan, though, lost the series 3-0.

England pacer Saqib Mahmood (up 89 places to 63^rd), Ireland’s Craig Young (up four places to 78^th) and Joshua Little (up 22 places to 86^th) gained points and climbed up the rankings.

Ireland duo of William Porterfield (up five places to 74^th) and Harry Tector (up 37 places to 90^th) also made progress following their match-winning efforts against South Africa.

For the Test rankings, influenced by the game between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, Mahmudullah, who is retiring from the longest format, jumped 19 places to 44th spot after his match-winning ton. Liton Das has gained 15 places and is now 55^th. Spinner Mehidy Hasan scaled six places to 24^th after finishing with a nine-wicket haul in the match.

For Zimbabwe, Brendan Taylor, for his scores of 81 and 92 saw him move up seven places to 28^th position. Bowlers Blessing Muzarabani (six places up to 45^th) and Donald Tiripano (three places up to 76^th) also rose in the rankings.
