Bangladesh face West Indies in the second of the three T20Is on July 3, Sunday. Both teams then move on to Guyana for the third T20I followed by the three-match ODI series. This is a crucial series for both teams and especially for Bangladesh as they look to come back to winning ways after their loss in the Test series. Meanwhile, the first T20I ended in a no-result after play was not possible due to wet outfield.

The match was reduced to 16 overs per side due to wet conditions but the match was finally called off due to multiple rain interruptions. West Indies won the toss and opted to field first.

Bangladesh batted for only 13 overs scoring 105/8. The series still remains at nil-nil. Bangladesh is being led by Mahmudullah in the T20I series. He has retired from Test cricket and is a key figure in the team’s white-ball setup. The all-rounder will be key for his side heading into the T20 World Cup.

He spoke about playing an aggressive brand of cricket and at the same time giving time to the youngsters to get themselves accustomed with the expectations in international cricket.

“In home conditions, I think we’re consistent but we lack improvement in away conditions. Many of the players are still young and inexperienced and will have to be given time,” he added.

“In T20Is, you have very little time in the game, so you need to be very much aware of the conditions that will be provided. The game sense has to be applied. Our motto will be to be very positive and aggressive at the same time,” he said ahead of the first T20I. In this article, we take a look at Bangladesh’s predicted XI for the second T20I against West Indies.

The youngster should be backed to open the batting in the second T20I as well. He has just made his T20I debut for his side and needs time to flourish at this level. He scored just two in the first T20I.
