  • Rohit Sharma wanted Ravindra Jadeja to play all six balls of last over.

  • Ravindra Jadeja ignored Rohit Sharma's suggestion.

India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma was absolutely livid with the star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja after the latter ignored his message from the pavilion during the 33rd match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, November 2.

Rohit, who has been in red-hot form in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, failed to perform with the bat in the match against the Lankan Lions. He was dismissed on the second ball of the match, which was bowled by pacer Dilshan Madushanka.

However, other batters stepped up and made sure that the Indian team posted a great total on the board. Shubman Gill (92) and Virat Kohli (88) played spectacular innings and the duo added 189 runs together in 179 balls.

Also, the middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer, who was going through a lean patch in the marquee tournament, finally set the stage on fire with his excellent knock. He played some of the breathtaking strokes and smashed 82 runs off 56 balls, with 3 fours and 6 sixes.

From lower-order, it was Ravindra Jadeja who chipped in with the crucial runs, but he didn’t follow his skipper Rohit Sharma’s advice, which left the latter fuming.

Ahead of the last over of the innings, Rohit Sharma was on the balcony of the Indian pavilion and he signaled Jadeja to play all six balls of the last over.

Meanwhile, Jadeja took a double on the first ball, but on the second ball, he decided to go for a single after playing the delivery down to the long-off. The camera instantly panned towards Rohit after Jadeja took a single and the Indian captain was saying something in anger to the all-rounder.
