Sri Lanka Squad For ICC World Cup 2023, Schedule 2023, Match List, Team List. Sri Lanka will commence their campaign in ICC World Cup 2023 with a clash against South Africa on October 7. The Sri Lanka vs South Africa encounter will take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

ICC World Cup 2023 begins on October 5 in India. A total of 10 teams will clash with each other to clinch the trophy. 48 matches will take place during the tournament. The ICC World Cup 2023 final is scheduled to be played on November 19.

Sri Lanka did get a direct qualification in the ICC World Cup 2023. They participated in the qualifier tournament to get a spot in the tournament. Sri Lanka crushed every team in the tournament and also won the final to capture a place in the World Cup.

Dasun Shanaka is the current captain of Sri Lanka in white-ball formats. Hence, he will lead the team in the tournament. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is yet to announce the squad for ICC World Cup 2023.

Sri Lanka has powerful names in the spin department like Maheesh Theekshana, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Dunith Wellalage. In the pace department, Lahiru Kumar, Dushantha Chameera, and Matheesha Pathirana are some prominent players.

In the last edition of the ICC World Cup, Sri Lanka failed to qualify for the semi-finals. Out of 9 games, Sri Lanka won 3 games and lost 4. Two games ended with no result. Hence, Sri Lanka got the 6th place in the points table which was not enough to grab a semi-final seat.

Sri Lanka has always been a powerful team in ODI World Cups. The Asian nation reached the finals of the ODI World Cup in the 2007 and 2011 editions. In 1996, Sri Lanka won the ODI World Cup for the first team under skipper Ajrun Ranatunga.

Sri Lanka has one ODI World Cup title in their kitty. In ICC World Cup 2023, Sri Lanka will seek to grab their second ODI World Cup title.
