India National Cricket Team speedster Mohammed Shami brutally trolled the South Africa National Cricket Team after the dominant win in the 37th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

The clash between the table-toppers – India and South Africa – was held on Sunday, November 5 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Many expected the match to be a nail-biter considering the dominance of the two teams, but it turned out to be a one-sided affair.

Batting first, Rohit Sharma & Co. posted 326/5 on the board, riding on the century from Virat Kohli and amazing contributions from other batters. While defending the total, the Indian bowlers were seen breathing fire as they bundled out the Proteas for 83 in 27.1 overs to win by 243 runs.

Shami played a key role with the ball for India as he removed Rassie van der Dussen and Aiden Markram. Speaking after the match, Mohammed Shami was interacting with the experts on Star Sports and that was when he decided to troll Temba Bavuma & Co. He said:

“Har baar 400 paar karne waalon ka haal dekho (Look at the condition of the team that has been scoring 400 runs often).”

For Mohammed Shami to come back the way he has, shows the mindset – Rohit Sharma

Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, Rohit lauded Mohammed Shami and Shreyas Iyer for performing brilliantly. He said:

“[on Shreyas Iyer] Even if the faith hadn’t been repaid, I would have still stuck to them. We need to keep the trust. It can’t be done everyday. For Shami to come back the way he has, shows the mindset. The last two games has shown what Iyer is capable of.”

Rohit Sharma further lauded Ravindra Jadeja for his 5-wicket haul against the Proteas. The India National Cricket Team captain said:

“Gill and myself have been batting together for a majority of time now. We let the instincts take over. We don’t preplan anything. We just assess and play accordingly. Jadeja has been very good for us. Playing in every format over the years.

“Today was a classical case as to what Jadeja is for us. Came out at the death and scored vital runs. Then picked up wickets. He knows his role and knows what the expectations from him. Not to get too ahead of ourselves has been the talk in the dressing room. Couple of big games coming up. We don’t want to change anything.”
