India and South Africa will face each other in a multi-format series in December. During the India tour of South Africa 2023, 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs, and 2 Tests will take place. The T20I series will be played at the start from December 10 to 14. India and South Africa last played a T20I series in October 2022, when India vanquished Proteas 2-1 at home.

Riyan Parag is the first Indian player who is highly likely to make his T20I debut during the IND vs SA series. The right-handed batsman struggled to score runs in IPL 2023. However, he grabbed the eyeballs during the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023.

The Assam player slammed 510 runs in 10 games to finish as the highest run-getter in the tournament. At a strike rate of 182+, Parag slammed 7 half-centuries in the tournament. After his marvelous batting show in the domestic T20I tournament, Parag is highly likely to make his T20I debut soon.

Abhishek Sharma is another batsman who impressed with his performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023. At an average of 48+, the left-handed batsman slammed 485 runs to finish as the second-highest run-getter in the season. He also shattered 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries in the tournament. Hence, he also deserves a chance to play in T20Is for India.

3. Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan became a popular name after his performance for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023. The left-handed batsman slammed 362 runs in 8 games for the team, hitting 3 half-centuries. He also slammed a 96-run knock in the final and held a superb strike rate of 141+.

Sudharsan also played well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Hence, after his stunning batting show in 2023, he can be clubbed into the T20I squad against South Africa.

If we talk about debutant spinners, Suyash Sharma is one name that has grabbed a lot of limelight this year. In IPL 2023, the right-arm spinner hunted 10 wickets in 11 games for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Later, he also starred in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023, hunting 18 scalps in 7 games. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. After his consistent show this year in various tournaments, selectors might rope him into the T20I squad during the South Africa tour.
