Rassie van der Dussen and South Africa are making every possible effort to win the semi-final 2 of the ICC World Cup 2023. The game between the Proteas and the Australians is taking place at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Rassie van der Dussen produced a stupendous effort on the field and jolted Australia with the blow of Mitchell Marsh. After setting a target of just 213 runs, South Africa didn’t have a great start with the ball as David Warner (29) and Travis Head (62) added 60 runs for the opening stand.

But after that, South Africa chipped in with two quick wickets. Of all the wickets, the scalp of Mitchell Marsh made many go gaga. The credit for that goes to none other than Rassie van der Dussen, who took a blinder to dismiss the batter.

Kagiso Rabada bowled a good length delivery that was outside off, Mitchell Marsh tried to drive it on the rise. He got a good connection and it didn’t seem that someone will catch it. However, Rassie van der Dussen flew to his right and grabbed a stunner in the air with both hands.

Here’s the video:

Mitchell Marsh bagged a six-ball duck and with his wicket, Australia came under pressure. After his wicket, South Africa were quite pumped up and their intensity raised up automatically after that. They put pressure on the opposition and are keeping things tight.

SA vs AUS: After Rassie van der Dussen’s effort, South Africa remove Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne and Glenn Maxwell

The introduction of spin has changed the fortunes of South Africa in the game. Aiden Markam first removed David Warner and then Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi did the further damage. The ball is turning sharply and Australians are finding it hard to score.

Keshav Maharaj castled the stumps of Travis Head with peach. After that Tabraiz Shamsi chipped in as well and sent the dangerous Marnus Labuschagne (18) Glenn Maxwell (1) packing as well.
