Cricketer-turned-commentator Harbhajan Singh took to X to condemn the trolling of Australian players and their family members post-ICC World Cup 2023 final. Harbhajan Singh also urged fans to stop such behaviour.

Australia outplayed India in the ICC World Cup 2023 final on Sunday to shatter the hearts of millions of Indian fans. As a result, some fans targeted Australian players and their families on social media.

Harbhajan Singh Condemns Trolling Of Australian Players And Their Families

Taking to Twitter, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh condemned the trolling of Australian players and their family members. He said that it was in bad taste and such behaviour should be stopped.

“Reports of trolling of family members of Australian cricket players is completely in bad taste. We played well but lost the final to better cricket by the Aussies. That’s it. Why troll the players and their families? Requesting all cricket fans to stop such behaviour. Sanity and dignity are more important”, he wrote on Twitter. Have a look at his tweet below.

Recently, Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell’s wife shared a post on Instagram in which she called out the trollers for targeting her. Maxwell’s wife is of Indian origin and some fans targeted her for celebrating Australia’s victory.

Australia defeated India by 6 wickets in ICC World Cup 2023 final. Bowling first, Australia restricted India to 240 all-out. Later, with a stunning century by Travis Head (137), Australia chased down the target by 7 wickets.

Australia won their 6th-ever ODI World Cup title. India were the favourites to win the match but Australia outplayed them with their outstanding bowling and batting.

Now, both India and Australia will face each other in a T20I series. The India vs Australia T20I series will witness five games. All senior Indian players are rested for the series. The 1st T20I takes place on November 23 in Visakhapatnam.
