England all-rounder Ben Stokes has perhaps played his last ODI innings in Kolkata as he was dismissed for 84 off 76 deliveries. His innings included 11 fours and two sixes as he controlled England’s innings in the middle overs and was closing in on his second World Cup ton.

Ben Stokes headed into this innings after scoring his first World Cup ton against the Netherlands in a winning cause. The England all-rounder played a counter-attacking knock against Pakistan in a bid for Champions Trophy qualification.

However, Stokes’ innings was cut short by a rever-swinging yorker from Afridi that uprooted his off stump. The left-hander missed a straight delivery that hit the stumps and ended his brilliant innings. The England skipper had a look of dejection and disappointment knowing that he missed out on back-to-back tons.

Shaheen Afridi on the other hand, was delighted to send back the England skipper who batted well alongside Joe Root and added a 132-run stand for the third wicket with Root.

Meanwhile, England are pushing hard to get a score of over 300 and literally batting Pakistan out of the game. The Men in Green need to pull off some hard equations to win the game and get their net run rate over New Zealand to keep their chances alive for the semi-final game against India.

England have lost six out of the eight games played so far and are looking good to end their campaign on a high. Pakistan if they lose this match will also be eliminated from the tournament.
