Pakistan Pacer Haris Rauf has now become the most expensive bowler in the ICC World Cup 2023 edition. He has now conceded over 500 runs in the tournament, 533 to be exact. He has taken 16 wickets so far in the tournament playing his ninth game of the campaign.

In the absence of Naseem Shah, Harid Rauf was expected to stand up for Pakistan. Instead, he has been the most expensive bowler in the history of the tournament surpassing Adil Rashid’s tally of 526 runs in the 2019 edition of the World Cup.

Pakistan in this game have an uphill task to climb now with England having crossed 300 runs in the match. They need to chase whatever England scored potentially less than seven overs to have any chances of making the semi-finals which is practically impossible.

However, both teams would like to end with a win. Pakistan’s dream of winning their next World Cup since 1992 has not yet been fulfilled. England, on the other hand, did not have a great defense of their World Cup title.

Talking about Haris Rauf, he ended with figures of 3/64 in the match as he took his wicket tally to 16 wickets in the tournament. His fellow pacer Shaheen Afridi took two for 72 in the match and took his wickets tally to 18 at an average of 26.72.

England posted 337/9 after winning the toss and opting to bat first. Ben Stokes led the charge with his 84 off 76 balls. Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root scored fifties and a lovely cameo from Harry Brook (30 off 17 balls) took England to that score.

As said earlier, Pakistan now needs to chase this score down in less than seven overs to reach the semi-finals which looks impossible, to say the least. However, the Men in Green would certainly love to win the game and end their campaign on a high.
