The ICC World Cup 2023 semi-finals schedule was confirmed after the Pakistan National Cricket Team failed to perform well in the 44th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 against Jos Buttler-led England National Cricket Team on Saturday, November 11 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

India National Cricket Team had become the first team to officially seal a place in the semi-finals of the marquee tournament. The next two teams to reach the semi-finals were the Temba Bavuma-led South Africa National Cricket Team and Pat Cummins-led Australia National Cricket Team. Both the teams dropped two matches en route to the knockouts.

The Proteas finished in the second position with 7 wins and 14 points. They had a Net Run Rate of +1.261. Australia, on the other hand, are in the third position with 7 wins, 14 points, and a Net Run Rate of +0.841.

Pakistan Eliminated From ICC World Cup 2023

There was a three-way battle between New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan for the fourth and last semi-final spot. The Black Caps earned a stunning win in their last group-stage game to get to 10 points and earn a Net Run Rate of +0.743.

Afghanistan got eliminated after losing to South Africa in their last group stage game while Pakistan still had an outside chance. The Men In Green needed to chase down the target of 338 runs against England in 6.4 overs to overtake the Net Run Rate of New Zealand. However, they only managed to score 30/2 after 6.4 overs, to get knocked out of the competition.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma & Co. will lock horns with the New Zealand National Cricket Team in the first semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Wednesday, November 15 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

While the semi-final 2 of the ICC World Cup 2023 will see the battle between the South Africa National Cricket Team and Australia National Cricket Team on Thursday, November 16 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The winners of the two semi-finals will earn a ticket to the finale and travel to Ahmedabad for the summit clash, which will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, November 19, where more than 100,000 fans are expected to attend the game.
