The Pakistan National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan was part of a comical moment during the 44th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against Jos Buttler-led England National Cricket Team at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, November 11.

Mohammad Rizwan, who is known for being animated on the field, had a forgettable outing against the Three Lions in the last group-stage match of Team Pakistan. During a mammoth run chase, he was able to score just 36 runs off 51 balls, before walking back to the dugout. He also hit 2 fours during his slow innings.

On the third ball of the 23rd over, the off-spinner Moeen Ali bowled a back of a length delivery and Rizwan walked down the track prematurely to play across the line. He missed it completely and the ball went on to rattle his stumps.

Immediately after getting castled, Rizwan collapsed on the ground in what looked like a cramp. Nothing was serious with Rizwan and the dismissal looked very comical.

Earlier, England National Cricket Team won the toss and chose to bat first in the match. They batted very well and smashed the Pakistan bowlers all over the park. The struggling Pakistan bowling unit wasn’t able to restrict the Jos Buttler-led side to a low total and ended up conceding 337 runs.

The right-arm express pacer Haris Rauf, who now holds the record for conceding most runs in a single edition of the World Cup, was the pick of the bowler for Pakistan against England. He bagged three wickets in the match. Also, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Wasim Jr bagged two wickets each while Iftikhar Ahmed picked one wicket.

Chasing a humongous total, Pakistan openers Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique failed miserably. The duo were back in the hut inside 3 overs, leaving Pakistan tottering at 10/2. After that, the dependable duo of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam tried to steady the ship. They played quite slow and were dismissed without registering any big scores.
