Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan took another dig at Mohammad Hafeez after Pakistan’s poor batting performance against the defending champions in the ICC World Cup 2023. He took a jibe at his old rival using Virat Kohli’s reference.

Pakistan displayed a poor performance against England as they bagged a 93-run loss against the defending champions to end the tournament on a disappointing note. They were set a target of 338 runs to chase and it was another failure for them with the bat.

No specialist batter really could get going as they were out early. They lost both openers for low scores. Babar Azam (38) and Mohammad Rizwan (36) tried to hold the fort but they couldn’t capitalize on the start they got. Saud Shakeel (29) perished early as well but Agha Salman (51) hit a valiant century, which wasn’t enough.

Pakistan got all out for just 244 runs and lost the game by 93 runs. As batters were struggling to get going, Michael Vaughan sneaked in opportunity to take a jibe at Mohammad Hafeez. Taking to his X account, he said:

“Maybe Pakistani batters need to be a bit more selfish like Virat.”

For unversed, Mohammad Hafeez called Virat Kohli’s knock against South Africa in the ICC World Cup 2023 as selfish. After that Michael Vaughan called his comments utter nonsense. The banter between the two continued with the English legend leaving no opportunity to take a jibe at him.

ENG vs PAK: Michael Vaughan Brings Out Mohammad Hafeez’s Chucking Controversy While Attacking Pakistan Great

Michael Vaughan recently targeted Mohammad Hafeez while highlighting his chucking controversy. Taking to this X account, he said:

“Just realised why you are so good at throwing out Tweets.”

Mohammad Hafeez notably was banned quite a few times for his illegal bowling action. Apart from this, Michael Vaughan also took a jibe at him with a picture in which he was seen getting bowled by Virat Kohli.
