Pakistan had a disappointing run in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. They failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup for the third consecutive time. They started their campaign on a high with two successive wins but after that, a huge slump of four defeats on the trot derailed their ambitions for the World Cup. Pakistan was one of the favourites to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup but their lack of intent and faulty game plans got them eliminated.
Former Pakistan cricketer Aaqib Javed made a bizarre statement about the Pakistani bowling attack in this World Cup. Pakistan’s bowling has been one of the main factors in their failure as the bowlers have disappointed in every department. Haris Rauf conceded 533 runs in the World Cup which is the most by any bowler in World Cup cricket.
Aaqib Javed mentioned that Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf were actually groomed for T20 cricket and that’s the format they specialize in. Javed’s statement has been criticized by the Media and various journalists as they believe that Haris and Shaheen will come back strong.
Javed said, “People are abusing saying Haris is not bowling well, Shaheen is not effective in middle and death overs. We brought them, trained them, and played them purely for the T20 format.

Pakistan lost five matches in a World Cup for the first time in World Cup history and four of those were on the trot against India, Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa respectively. The Men In Gree were completely toothless in all departments which led to this disaster of a World Cup.
Now, Pakistan is gearing up to tour Australia where they will play three tests starting from 6th December. They have to bounce back from this setback and Pakistan Cricket will have to make a lot of changes here and there in order to reestablish themselves as a cricketing giant in the World.
