Pakistan Cricketer Imad Wasim made a bold claim after India lost the final of the ICC World Cup 2023 against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He said that Men in Blue made conditions for themselves and even after that they lost.

India were at the receiving end of a heartbreaking loss against Australia in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023. The Men in Blue suffered a thumping 6-wicket loss and it marked their 10th consecutive loss in the knockout of the ICC tournaments. They played the staggering brand of cricket throughout the entire tournament but when it mattered most, they failed.

The stage was set for India to lift their third ICC World Cup as they dominated every opposition in the league stage. The Rohit Sharma-led won 9 out of their 9 league games and also bagged a 70-run win in the semi-final against New Zealand.

But on a slow pitch, they couldn’t get going and were bundled out for just 240 runs with the bat. With the ball, they started well and took three early wickets. But after that, they couldn’t pick wickets as the opposition chased the target with 6 wickets in hand. Travis Head (137) slammed a brutal century whereas Marnus Labuschagne (58*) played a decent knock as well.

Imad Wasim pointed out that Australia’s never-say-die attitude proved that despite things being not in your favor, you still can win. Speaking during a show in Pakistan, he explained:

“Australia showed us that no matter the crowd is against you, the pitch is against your nature, the conditions don’t support you at all – you can still win if you have a never-say-die attitude. India made conditions for themselves and still lost.”

He wrote a heartfelt message after the loss in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023. He reflected on the team’s campaign and said that things aren’t over for them until they win the trophy. He stated:

“Been almost 16 hours but still hurts like it did last night. Sometimes giving your everything isn’t enough. We fell short of our ultimate goal but every step in this journey has been a testament to our team’s spirit and dedication. To our incredible fans, your unwavering support in our highs and lows means the world to us. This isn’t the end, it’s not over until we win. Jai Hind.”
