Indian cricket team have faced a massive blow as Shubman Gill retired hurt in the ongoing semi-final against New Zealand. The first knockout game of the ICC World 2023 is currently taking place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Shubman Gill looked in great touch and is one of the main reasons behind India being in the dominant position in the ongoing game against New Zealand. He first played second fiddle to Rohit Sharma, who blasted a brutal 47-run knock to put his team in the driver’s seat.

Once Rohit Sharma was back in the hut, Shubman Gill took charge and made sure that India kept the run rate high. The No.1 ODI batter played some eye-catching shots and timed the ball to perfection. His stupendous batting brought a sense of calm in the dressing room and made everyone applaud him.

Shubman Gill stepped up on the big occasion as he slammed a vital half-century for the team in the semi-final. He was batting at 79 runs off 65 balls with the help of 8 fours and 3 sixes. However, he felt harsh cramps in his legs and was down.

As Shubman Gill was down, physios ran out to check on him. But he looked in immense pain and couldn’t continue. He walked off the field while limping. India would be hoping that the batter recovers fast and comes out to bat once again.
