Fans on X reacted after Indian batter Virat Kohli broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar in terms of centuries. The right-hander now has the most tons in the history of the ODIs as he completed his 50th century. 

Virat Kohli continued his dream run in the ICC World Cup 2023 as he smashed a magnificent ton against New Zealand in the semi-final. The match is currently taking place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and the batter has put on a show. 

Virat Kohli played a classical innings and made sure that he made the crowd money’s worth at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He timed the ball to perfection and played some breathtaking strokes. The right-hander made sure that he held the one end and kept the run rate intact. 

Virat Kohli played a blinder of an innings and it could’ve been no better ground to break Sachin Tendulkar’s record. He brought his 50th ton on a big occasion and in front of the greats of the game in Sachin Tendulkar, Vivian Richards, and others. 

Virat Kohli also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most runs in a single edition of the World Cup. He surpassed the batting great’s tally of 673 runs and became the first batter in World Cup history to score 700 runs in an edition.

Virat Kohli ended with a knock of 117 runs off 113 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 103.54 and also smashed 9 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. His valiant knock made sure that India went past 350 runs in an all-important semi-final.
