Shreyas Iyer was one of the chief architects behind the carnage done by India in the semi-final. The batter came to bat after Shubman Gill (80*) was retired hurt and made sure that the team didn’t miss the absence of Gill.

This was Shreyas Iyer’s 4th consecutive fifty-plus score in the tournament. He ended with the knock of 105 runs off 70 balls and had a strike rate of 150. He slammed 4 fours and 8 sixes in his innings and made sure his team reached close to 400. 

Shreyas Iyer has been the backbone of the Indian middle order in the ongoing World Cup. He has smashed over 500 runs while batting at 4, which depicts the kind of impact he has made in the tournament for his team. Thanks to his knock, India ended with a total of 397 runs in the high-pressure game.
