The 32-year-old New Zealand National Cricket Team batting all-rounder Daryl Mitchell played a stupendous innings in the first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 against India National Cricket Team at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, November 15.

Daryl Mitchell is undoubtedly one of the most dependable all-format batters in the world currently. He has the ability to win the matches for his team single-handedly and he adapts to different conditions very well.

Daryl Mitchell smashed a sensational century in the group stage match against India at Dharamsala, but the Men In Blue easily clinched the win that game. The all-rounder was once again at his best in the semi-final against the Men In Blue and smashed a spectacular century.

On the way to his ton, he smashed some amazing fours and sixes. Daryl Mitchell’s most impressive six came in the 27th over, which was bowled by Ravindra Jadeja.

On the 5th ball of the 27th over, Ravindra Jadeja bowled a tossed-up delivery that was in Daryl Mitchell’s zone. The all-rounder cleared his front leg and launched the ball over the long-on for a huge 107-m six. With this, he also broke Shreyas Iyer’s record for the biggest six in the ongoing edition of the World Cup.

Mitchell completed his ton off just 85 balls against India and became the second batsman after Sourav Ganguly to hit two hundreds against the same team in a World Cup edition. Ganguly did that in the 2003 World Cup against Kenya.

Also, Mitchell now holds the record for most sixes by a New Zealand batter in a single edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup.
