David Beckham Shares His Experience Of Watching The IND vs NZ Zemi-Final At The Wankhede Stadium

England football legend David Beckham was one of the many superstars who was present at the Wankhede Stadium to witness the IND vs NZ semi-final. The match turned out to be a classic with India beating the Kiwis to make it to the final.

Beckhand who is one of the all-time football greats visited India for the first time to watch a game of cricket. He has made all sorts of records himself in the game of football both for club and country.

In a video shared by the Indian Cricket Team, David Beckham spoke about visiting India, meeting Sachin Tendulkar and watching a game of cricket at the Wankhede stadium. He responded to a few questions thrown at him and in every answer of his he spoke about the atmosphere within the stadium.

He was first asked to describe the atmosphere at the Wankhede in three Words to which he replied “electric, passionate and incredible”.

When asked about whether he would be a batter or a bowler, Beckham said that he would prefer to be a batter. ” I used to play cricket when I was a young kid at school and I always liked being the batsman, but I also like to bowl and also like to field. So maybe I am an all-rounder but I see myself as a batter” said Beckham.

The England football great then shared his experience of watching a game at the Wankhede in detail. “It’s nice to step into the stadium and get goosebumps and I felt that as soon as I walked into this stadium, maybe there is something about it, maybe because I was walking with Sachin that made me feel even more special, but you can feel the energy within the stadium.”

Beckham concluded his interaction by sharing his experience of visiting India for the first time and meeting Sachin in person after a long long.

“It is my first time in India and it has been an incredible experience. I can’t believe it has taken me so long to come here. But now I am finally here and I can’t wait to come back. I think the whole experience from meeting the people, the children, the food, the energy in the stadium and being here for Diwali and the New Year and the World Cup, it could not have been perfect.”

On meeting with Sachin Tendulkar he said ” It was very special, Obviously, I met Sachin for the very first time at Wimbledon and it was special to meet him then and it was special to meet him now He’s the best but as a person, he is even better. So for me to spend some time with him in his house was very special and to meet all the players as well”.
