  • Paul van Meekeren bowled brilliantly against Bangladesh.

  • Paul van Meekeren castled Mushfiqur Rahim with a jaffa.

The 30-year-old Netherlands National Cricket Team pacer Paul van Meekeren removed the 36-year-old Bangladesh National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim for 1 with a beauty in the 28th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The struggle of the Bangla Tigers continued in the ongoing edition of the World Cup against the Dutch. Chasing a small total in the match, the Bangladesh batters were off to an awful start as Litton Das, Tanzid Hasan, and Najmul Hossain Shanto once again failed to perform and the onus was once again on veterans Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim to bail the side out of trouble.

However, both Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur were unable to do the job for Bangladesh this time around and they were back in the dugout for low scores, leaving the side in a horrible position.

The wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur fell to a jaffa from Paul van Meekeren and he was beautifully set up by the pacer. After bowling three deliveries outside off-stump, the pacer bowled an absolutely incredible off-cutter on the fourth ball of the 18th over.

The ball jagged back in after pitching outside off-stump and Mushfiqur played the wrong line, leaving a small gap between bat and pads through which the ball passed and rattled stumps.
