  • There are lot of controversies going on in Pakistan cricket.

  • Babar Azam as a skipper has come under scrutiny.

Reputed Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle made a bold claim on all the controversies going on the Pakistan Cricket. He said that the Lahore Qalandars franchise is having a lot of influence on the team and they want Shaheen Afridi to captain the team.

Things aren’t going right in the Pakistan Cricket Team. There have been a lot of controversies going on amid the team’s poor performance in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. Recently chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq resigned as well and PCB is under scanner as well.

Various experts have claimed that there’s a lot of favoritism in the team and PCB are picking the team because of their own interest. Skipper Babar Azam also has come under a lot of scrutiny and there have been calls to remove him from the captaincy as well.

With all the fuss going around the Pakistan Cricket, Harsha Bhogle made a bold statement. He highlighted that Lahore Qalandars are the culprits behind all things happening. He feels that Shaheen Afridi might not turn out to be a good captain because he’s injury-prone. Speaking on Cricbuzz, Harsha Bhogle explained:

“Lahore Qalandars are an influential franchise. You can see where the noises are coming from. It’s not that Shaheen might become a very good captain for all that you know. He is injury prone; he has got a lot of bowling to do.”

There have been various calls that Shaheen Afridi might be in contention to become the new captain of the team. The fast bowler has led Lahore Qalandars to two titles in the PSL.

PAK vs BAN: What if Pakistan win the next three – Harsha Bhogle

Harsha Bhogle further raised an interesting question while talking about Pakistan’s captaincy saga. He said that if the team wins the next three games in the World Cup will that make Babar Azam a good captain or not. He elaborated:

“What if Pakistan win the next three, New Zealand capsize, suddenly Pakistan in the semis. Does that make Babar a good captain and Shaheen no longer a contender?”

Pakistan have lost four back-to-back games in the World Cup. They are on the verge of elimination but they still have an outside chance. They are currently locking horns against Bangladesh and to stay in contention they need to win all their remaining games.
