Tempers flared up between Kusal Mendis And Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the ongoing match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup 2023. The 38th match of the tournament between the two teams is taking place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. 

Sri Lanka were put into bat first and they lost Kusal Perera (4) in the first over. However, after that skipper Kusal Mendis took charge and tried to bail his team out of trouble. He played decent innings and rescued his team after they were jolted early. 

Kusal Mendis’ battle with Tanzim Hasan Sakib however caught the attention of many. The duo exchanged some words between them and left no stone unturned in giving it to each other. It all started during the 11th over the the innings when Sri Lanka skipper smashed six on the first ball of the pacer’s over. 

After Tazim Hasan Sakib beat Kusal Mendis on the third ball of the over, he went up to him and said some words to the batter, who didn’t like it. He gestured for the pacer to go back and bowl without saying anything. Umpire Marais Erasmus too interrupted and shared some words with the pacer. 

On the very next delivery, when Kusal Mendis edged a delivery from Tazim Hasan Sakib for four, he shared some words with him. It seemed that they exchanged some harsh words between them and it charged up the crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

After having an argument with Tazim Hasan Sakib, Kusal Mendis gave away his wicket in the very next over. He tried to chip the delivery from Shakib Al Hasan towards long-on but it came off the toe-end of his bat. He was caught at long-on by Shoriful Islam. The Sri Lanka skipper managed just 19 runs off 30 balls. 

On the other hand, Tazim Sakib picked the wicket of Pathum Nissanka. He bowled a back of a length ball outside off, shaping in. The batter went for a cut shot without moving his feet much. He ended up getting a thick inside edge and the ball crashed into the stumps.
