Australia captain Pat Cummins silenced the crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad as he removed Virat Kohli. The Indian batter played a decent knock in the ongoing final of the ICC World Cup 2023.

Virat Kohli played a great innings under pressure as he slammed a magnificent half-century. The batter soaked in all the pressure and made sure that his side didn’t clatter after they lost three wickets for just 81 runs at the top.

Virat Kohli brought a sense of calm to the Indian batting lineup but his stay at the crease was cut short by Australian captain Pat Cummins. The lanky fast bowler has been exceptional in the game and has troubled the Indian batters, putting them under pressure at regular intervals.

Pat Cummins bowled a short-of-length delivery and Virat Kohli tried to rise on his toes to defend it with a slightly angled bat. The ball caught the inside edge and then crashed onto the popping crease to hit the stumps.

Pat Cummins was charged up after taking the wicket and celebrated quite aggressively. Such was the importance of wicket. Virat Kohli was looking set for a big ton as he anchored the innings well. But Australia’s skipper yet again brought his team back into the game.

The onus will now be on KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Suryakumar Yadav to take the team to a big total.

IND vs AUS: Nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent – Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins ahead of the final against India talked about his desire to silence the Ahmedabad crowd. He said that nothing would be more satisfying for them to make the crowd go numb. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

“I think you’ve got to embrace it. The crowd’s obviously going to be very one-sided but, in sport there’s nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent and that’s the aim for us tomorrow. Yeah, you’ve just got to embrace every part of it, every part of a final – even in the lead-up, there’s going to be noise and more people and interest, and you just can’t get overwhelmed. You’ve got to be up for it, you’ve got to love it, and just know whatever happens it’s fine, but you just want to finish the day with no regrets.”

Pat Cummins silenced the crowd on the big day twice. He first removed Shreyas Iyer and then sent Virat Kohli packing as well. He would be hoping to take more wickets and help his team bundle out India for a low total.
