    Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq has taken a brutak dig at Australia ahead of their clash in the ICC World Cup 2023. The fast bowler highlighted how the Pat Cummins-led side canceled the series against the Afghans in January. 

    Naveen-ul-Haq while taking a jibe at the Australia cricket team said what excuse will they give now as their next in the World Cup is against Afghanistan and it is very crucial for them. Afghanistan and Australia will take on each other Tuesday (7th November) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. 

    Taking to his Instagram account, he said: “Refusing to play the bilateral series, now it will be interesting to see Cricket Australia stand in the World Cup.”

    For unversed, Australia and Afghanistan were scheduled to play three ODIs earlier this year in UAE. But Cricket Australia pulled out of the series after the Taliban imposed further restrictions on women’s and girls’ rights. This created a lot of controversy and also saw five-time champions receiving a lot of criticism. 

    After that, Naveen-ul-Haq and Rashid Khan pulled out of the Big Bash League. With the drama between the two teams, it’ll be an exciting contest to watch as both teams will be up against each other in the crucial game of the ICC World Cup 2023.

The fast bowler is making sure that he ends his career on high. He has been part of Afghanistan’s famous wins in tournaments and has played a crucial part. 

    Naveen-ul-Haq has picked 6 wickets so far and has been bowling well. Although he will retire from the 50-over format but will continue playing for the Afghanistan team in the T20 format.
