Ahmedabad is all set to host the SA vs AFG ICC World Cup 2023 match on November 10, Friday. This is the last group game for both teams ahead of the semi-final. This is also the last game in Ahmedabad before the final on November 19.
The SA vs AFG match is a must-win game for Afghanistan if they are to stay alive in the race for the semi-finals after their loss to Australia. They have won four games in this World Cup having won just one including the last two editions. They are heading into this game after three consecutive wins and a loss to Australia in the previous match.

South Africa have already qualified for the semi-finals along with India. They are heading into this game on the back of a loss against India. They were bowled out for 83 chasing 327 against the Men in Blue. Chasing has not been their biggest strength in this tournament and the Afghans should target that heading into this game.
South Africa have played only one ODI against Afghanistan which was back in the 2019 World Cup where they won by seven wickets in the DLS method. The two teams have played two T20Is with South Africa winning both of them. They are yet to play Test matches among themselves.

Afghanistan should be positive heading into this game and should bat first if they win the toss and try and score 250 plus at least. South Africa have lost two games in the tournament both while chasing and the Afghans should exploit that weakness. If they post a competitive total, Afghanistan with their spin attack can surely challenge the Proteas.
