KL Rahul scored 66 off 107 balls as India struggled through the middle overs in the ICC World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad. This was after Australia won the toss and asked the Indian team to bat first.

Rohit Sharma (47) yet again gave India a fast start but fell three short of his half-century, For his team’s cause, he needed to bat at least till the 20th over to set the platform for India.

The pitch started playing tricks after the first powerplay as it started to slow down. The picture started showing signs of turn and bounce as well as soon as the Australian spinners came into the attack.

For a period of more than 20 overs, the Indian batters were unable to hit boundaries. Virat Kohli (54) and KL Rahul (66) added 67 runs for the fourth wicket bringing India back into the game.

However, once Kohli was dismissed by Pat Cummins, India lost KL Rahul quickly as well as the Indian run-scoring tempo slowed down again.
