Travis Head has taken the game away from India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He changed the complexion of the game and bailed his team out of trouble when they were tottering at 47/3 while chasing a target of 241 runs.
Travis Head took the attack to the Indian bowlers and smacked them all over the park. He didn’t put a foot wrong in his innings and played a blinder that outplayed India out of the game and made sure that Australia had their one hand on the trophy.
Travis Head timed the ball to perfection and brought up his ton in 95 balls. He has batted with a strike rate of over 106 and also has smashed 14 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. He along with Marnus Labuschagne has made Indian bowlers look clueless with their 150+ partnership.
Travis Head has often troubled India and he again came to haunt them. The batter blasted a staggering century in the final of the ICC World Test Championship. After reaching his century in the World Cup, he silenced the crowd with his celebration.
Travis Head became only the third batter from Australia to hit a century in the World Cup final. He joined the likes of Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist to achieve the feat. He also became the second batter after Aravinda de Silva to hit the ton in the chase in the World Cup final.
