Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his heartfelt message following India’s defeat in the World Cup 2023 final. Ravichandran Ashwin praised Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah for their outstanding efforts in the tournament.

The Men in Blue suffered a six-wicket loss at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19. The hosts were bowled out for 240 runs after being asked to bat first. In response, the Australian team successfully chased down the target with 7 overs to spare.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who was part of the 2011 World Cup-winning campaign, was devastated by the loss in the final against Australia. The off-spinner described the recent loss as ‘mighty, mighty heartbreak’.

Ashwin played just one game in the tournament and managed to pick up one wicket for 34 runs in his 10 overs during the match in Chennai. However, he dropped from the playing XI in the next match and didn’t get any other opportunity to represent the team.
